Region: Italian Alps
Country: Italy

Pink coral color. Herbal aromas of eucalyptus honey and ginger with a supple, crisp, petillant, dryish medium body and a smooth, buoyant strawberry candies and mint tea finish. A juicy, herbal and refreshing flavored Moscato.

Folly: Page 139. A very delicate and lightly sparkling Muscat Blanc from the Asti region in Piedmont, Italy. Moscato d’Asti has one of the lowest alcohol levels of all wines (at around 5.5% ABV), reserving the grape sugars for sweetness in this highly aromatic white wine.

My Review:
First impression is the bubbles. I like how it is just slightly carbonated, not to the point of champagne, but enough to give it some character. This wine is dry but not nearly as dry as the cabernet sauvignon, and the cranberry flavor stands out in that midst. It does not appear to have a very strong smell to it, but that flavor melts on the tongue. As I just learned from the Folly text, I would identify this hue as a medium copper. While the Folly text describes a white Moscato, it appears that this is essentially a flavored, sparkling Moscato similar to the description, with an identical ABV.
I had this wine with no food.
